gettin by with a little help from my friend
Today was an unmemorable food day for me. But! I was reminded that for every one of us bloggers there are hundreds of people out there going about their own plant-based lives, and doing it excellently. I heard from one of these blog-free folks tonight. My oldest friend (oldest as in known her the longest, not age-old) Livia sent me a text message with a post in mind. Livia has been veggie for many, many years and she has fantastic taste. She's one of those people who can make magic in the kitchen with a pinch of this and sprinkle of that, no recipe needed. Liv loves cooking for others and she made these 2 platters of lovely veggies for a work thing.
She writes: "Who needs a grill when you have a stovetop deal? And who needs meat when you have the meat of a portobello?! The marinade is my mom's and it's tdf*. Fresh grated ginger and brown sugar are the two secrets. Other than that it's soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, vegetable oil, garlic and white wine. Not even a single grain of salt or pepper!"
Mmmmmm! So much grilled veggie goodness. Thanks to Liv and mama Kathy for the no-longer-secret recipe :)
